Social Science Expo: A Report
A social science expo along with the Republic Day celebrations was held in the school on 26th January. The celebration started with the March Past and Band Display and a parade was held in the school ground. The prestigious tricolor National flag was unfurled by our respected Sir H.O.A. Mr. Johnson Joseph followed by the speech on the importance of Republic Day and constitution by our Head girl.

Later, the Principal of the Insight Academy Mrs. D’souza as the chief guest inaugurated the Social Science Expo by ice breakers and by making a special entrance through the Igloo along with our Eskimos. She addressed the children by saying that MSB is one of the schools which give a unique way of learning to our new generation; MSB paves the path of the current generation’s career by sowing the seed of creativity right from the prime age of childhood in human life. This concept has been the need of the hour for the current generation.

We also had special invitees from Anjuman e Taiyebi, members of our committee, our ex-students, worthy parents and many other visitors and guests.

This expo was organized to give students an opportunity to research problems and explore a topic in a systematic and scientific way. Another benefit of this expo was that the students integrated and applied the skills they had learnt in social studies, languages, arts and natural sciences. Furthermore, the students got an opportunity to express their curiosity, creativity, and ingenuity.

The main objectives of this expo were:
 • To help students to gain a thorough knowledge and under-standing of social sciences.
 • To promote academic excellence and provide opportunities for the students to develop intellectual thinking and creativity.
 • To stimulate an interest in environment related issues and to inspire them to find possible solutions.

The students of different classes were given various topics. They worked with enthusiasm under the guidance of teachers and displayed their talent by preparing wondrous working models and admirable charts related to their topics.

The pre-primary section took the visitors into a showy garden. They also had a display of mouth watering milk products and also a variety of wild animals that need to be protected from extinction.

Classes I – IV had exhibited models showing the uses of water and different means of water storage, means of communication and natural resources.

The students of the classes V to X revealed incredible aptitude and knowledge in Social Science that they learned in their Social Science Classes.
Class V had a mysterious blend of soil, water, agricultural lands, irrigation types and natural calamities which made the visitors spellbound.
Class VI had an array of different means of transport and communication used by people from pre-historic ages till present. They showed the advancements in the field of transport and communication.
Class VII gave the visitors a chance to see the replicas of important and unique monuments of India and know more about them. Through their display they conveyed the essence of ‘Incredible India’ and Maqamaat Muqaddasah.
Class VIII demonstrated the causes, effects and control measures of water and air pollution. They made the visitors aware that human beings are responsible for pollution and they should prevent polluting the environment to save them.
Class IX converted their classroom into a mini planetarium with a display of planets, stars, asteroids and comets. It was a pleasant voyage for the visitors through the miniature universe.
Class X displayed the ways of exploiting the inexhaustible sources of energy. They had made exquisite models which showed generation of electricity from wind, water and tides and the method of trapping solar energy.

The social science expo was educative and informative. It inculcated the skill and proficiency of students in gathering, arranging and displaying the scattered social and scientific information which gave useful information to all visitors. The creativity and the efforts of the students and teachers were appreciated by all the visitors and guests. Our worthy parents also partnered us with their full support and cooperation in guiding the children.

May Allah grant our Aqua Moula (tus) a long and prosperous life till the day of qayamat. Ameen.
